Cornell's graduate study is organized by Graduate Fields of Study which are divided by discipline. A Graduate Field is an academic group which consists of professors from across departments and colleges and by which a student's academic plan is formed. A prospective student who is interested in working with a faculty member in the Program must apply to a Graduate Field in which the faculty member participates. Graduate Fields represented by individual Faculty members in this program include, but not limited to:

  • Comparative Biomedical Sciences
  • Food Science & Technology
  • Microbiology
  • Plant Pathology & Plant-Microbe Biology

To learn more about faculty participation in various Graduate Fields, please see the Faculty page, which includes direct links to the Graduate Fileds.

Application

If you are interested in the Program, you must apply to one of the Graduate Fields in which the program members participate. Once you are accepted by the Graduate Field and choose one of the program members as your thesis advisor, you will be a member of this Program.

For information about application process, please visit the Graduate School's web site. If you are interested in the Fields of Comparative Biomedical Sciences or Microbiology, please also visit the web site of the Graduate Program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, in which the two Graduate Fields participate.
